Participant: KYC for a legal entity — the company
Completing the company half of a KYC check on behalf of a company — the registration document and the legal details, entered exactly as they appear.
Overview
You complete this check if the shareholder is a company rather than a natural person — your personal holding company, for example, or an investment structure. You complete it as that company's legal representative.
The check covers two things: the company, and you as the person authorised to act for it. This lesson is the first half, the company. The second half is B1.10.
Allow about ten minutes for both. The company form is long and dense, and it is filled straight from the registration document — if you have that document open alongside, a desktop is easier than a phone for this part.
What you need
The company's registration document: a KBIS extract if it is registered in France, or the equivalent if registered abroad
The company's legal details: legal name, SIREN or registration number, legal form, city of registration, registered office address, share capital
Steps
Open the task from Pending tasks.
The start step lists the documents expected. Continue.
Registration document — first state the country of registration: France or international. Then upload the document. For France the screen asks for the KBIS; internationally, for the registration document.
Company information — enter it exactly as it appears on the official documents: legal name, SIREN (9 characters) or registration number, legal form, city of registration, registered office address, share capital.
The check then continues with the legal representative — B1.10.
Points to watch
Enter the details exactly as the document shows them. This is a legal identity, not a description of the business. Abbreviating the legal name or tidying the address creates a mismatch someone will have to query.
The SIREN is exactly 9 characters. The screen will reject anything else.
Share capital must be at least €1.00.
Common questions
My company is not French. Choose the international option at the country-of-registration step: the document expected becomes the equivalent registration document rather than a KBIS.
I do not know the exact legal form. There is an other legal form option letting you enter it freely — the screen gives Ltd and BV as examples.
Can I do this on my phone? You can, but the company form is dense and copied from a document. A desktop with the KBIS open beside you is quicker and less error-prone.
