Participant: providing your bank details

Supplying your bank details when they are requested — by uploading your bank document, or by entering them by hand — and why your review is what validates them.

Overview

Your bank details are requested because funds are going to be sent to you — you are on the receiving side of an upcoming transaction, typically as a seller.

This is not the request you would receive if you were the one paying. That is a separate task (B1.7), and it does not ask for your account details.

The process takes 3 to 5 minutes. Your bank information is encrypted and stored securely.

Kapitable will not debit your account. No movement of funds is made from the platform.

What you need

A bank document: your RIB for a French account, or the equivalent for an international account. It must clearly show:

  • your IBAN and your BIC/SWIFT code

  • the bank's name and address

  • the account holder's name

If you do not have that document to hand, you can skip the upload and enter the details manually.

Steps

  1. On your dashboard, open the task under Pending tasks. The bank information request opens.

  2. The start step summarises the document expected and the information that will be read from it. Continue.

  3. Bank document — upload your RIB or its equivalent. If you do not have it, continue without it and enter the details manually instead.

  4. The information read from the document is displayed: bank name, bank address, holder's name and address, IBAN, BIC/SWIFT code. Check it. It was extracted automatically, and your review is what validates it.

  5. Summary and confirmation — read everything back, then tick the confirmation that all the bank information provided is accurate and complete.

  6. Finish. The confirmation appears.

What happens next

The information provided will be verified and then used to process the upcoming transactions. There is nothing further for you to do.

If something is incomplete, the task reappears marked Bank Information Incomplete, asking you to check and update what was flagged. Correct only what is flagged.

If you have already submitted your details, you will see that they have been received.

Common questions

I do not have my bank document to hand. Skip that step and enter the IBAN and BIC manually. The document is still preferable — it avoids typing errors.

My account is not French. An equivalent bank document is fine, provided it shows the IBAN and BIC/SWIFT code, the bank's name and address, and the account holder's name.

The extracted information is wrong. Correct it before confirming. The extraction is an aid to data entry, not a source of authority — your confirmation is what counts.

Will Kapitable debit my account? No. No movement of funds is made from the platform.
